On May 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển and a working delegation conducted a field inspection of the Tịnh Hòa Fishing Port and Storm Shelter Upgrade and Expansion Project.

After the site inspection, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment - the project investor - to organize weekly coordination meetings with relevant agencies and local authorities to agree on implementation plans and solutions in order to accelerate project progress.
He also directed the People’s Committee of Đông Sơn Commune to urgently provide all documents related to specific land prices to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center so that compensation and site clearance plans could be prepared. The Center was assigned to coordinate with Đông Sơn commune to ensure proper public disclosure procedures in accordance with regulations.
Regarding outstanding issues related to previous surveying and inventory work, the Vice Chairman requested Đông Sơn commune to work closely with the investor and the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to inspect and assess the matters in compliance with legal regulations, while ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of affected residents within the project area.
The Tịnh Hòa Fishing Port and Storm Shelter Upgrade and Expansion Project covers nearly 42 hectares, with a designed capacity of 15,000 tons of seafood products per year. The project is expected to contribute to improving fisheries infrastructure, supporting marine economic development, and enhancing disaster prevention and response capacity for local fishermen. As of May 5, 2026, the project had completed more than 44 per cent of the total contract value.
Also on the same morning, Hiển inspected the current condition of Khê Hòa salinity prevention dam.

The work was originally built in 1975 and upgraded in 2020. It is currently managed and operated by VX 88 nhà cái Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company.
Located on the border between Đông Sơn and Tịnh Khê communes, Khê Hòa dam plays an important role in preventing saltwater intrusion, retaining freshwater, and supplying irrigation water for agricultural production. However, the dam has deteriorated over time, affecting its ability to prevent salinity intrusion and support agricultural activities in the surrounding areas.
