The 14th Provincial People’s Council for the 2026–31 tenure convened its third session

QUẢNG NGÃI — The 14th Provincial People’s Council for the 2026–31 tenure convened its third session, an extraordinary sitting, on May 30 to review, discuss and decide on a number of important issues within its authority.

The session was chaired by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy, along with Vice Chairpersons of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Cao Phúc, Nguyễn Thế Hải and Nghe Minh Hồng.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy said the session was held as the province was accelerating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and solutions, while ensuring national defence and security in 2026.

The province is also addressing difficulties arising during implementation and carrying out the review and reorganisation of villages and residential groups in line with the roadmap and regulations set by the central authorities.

According to the Standing Committee and specialised boards of the Provincial People’s Council, more than 90 legal normative resolutions issued by the council have been affected by the restructuring of administrative units at various levels and require further review and handling.

At the session, deputies considered measures related to 76 resolutions. Of these, 12 resolutions are expected to be fully repealed, while 41 new resolutions will be issued to address matters related to 64 existing resolutions, ensuring compliance with current regulations and practical conditions following the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units.

With a spirit of democracy and high responsibility, the third session successfully completed its entire agenda. Deputies reviewed, discussed and approved 53 resolutions and two important reports.

Closing the session, Nguyễn Đức Tuy acknowledged the strong sense of responsibility demonstrated by council deputies, the thorough preparation by the Provincial People’s Committee and specialised agencies, the careful and objective appraisal conducted by the council’s boards, and the effective coordination among relevant agencies in preparing the session’s contents.

He urged the Provincial People’s Committee to promptly direct departments, agencies and localities to translate the newly adopted resolutions into practical plans and solutions, ensuring their effective and synchronised implementation.

He also called on the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council, its boards, deputies’ groups and individual deputies to strengthen communication efforts so that residents and voters are fully informed of the resolutions, particularly those directly affecting people’s daily lives.

At the same time, they were asked to enhance supervision over law enforcement and the implementation of the resolutions and promptly propose solutions to difficulties arising in practice.
