On May 13, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển visited and surveyed a fruit-growing model in Sơn Linh commune.

Hiển visits the model of green-skin pomelo intercropped with guava in Gò Đồn village

During the visit to a nearly 3-hectare model of green-skin pomelo intercropped with guava in Gò Đồn village, Sơn Linh commune, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển acknowledged the efforts of the locality in developing agricultural production models that generate high economic value.

He emphasized that, to further develop and replicate effective production models, the locality should strengthen support for cooperatives and local farmers to learn from successful agricultural models and apply suitable practices based on local conditions.

At the same time, the locality should enhance production and product consumption linkages, promote the application of science and technology to improve crop productivity and quality, and gradually build large-scale production areas associated with product branding and the development of OCOP products.

In recent years, Sơn Linh commune has gradually restructured its crop production toward developing fruit trees suitable to the soil and climate conditions of the mountainous area. This orientation has contributed to improving local incomes and opening opportunities for sustainable agricultural development associated with community-based tourism.

Since 2021, the commune has developed nearly 33 hectares of fruit trees, mainly green-skin pomelo intercropped with guava and coconut intercropped with guava, in Ka La, Gò Đồn, Làng Rí and Làng Trá villages.

According to the locality’s development orientation, Sơn Linh will continue promoting community-based and experiential tourism linked to fruit-growing models. The commune aims to have its green-skin pomelo recognized as an OCOP product by the end of 2026.
