On March 9, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc chaired a meeting with relevant departments, agencies, and local authorities to review the implementation of inter-level boarding schools (primary and secondary schools) and preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of school construction projects in border communes across the province (Phase 2).
The meeting was held at the Provincial People’s Committee and connected online to the communes of Dục Nông, Mô Rai, Sa Loong, Rờ Kơi, Bờ Y, Ia Đal, Ia Tơi, Đăk Long, and Đăk Plô.
According to a report by Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyễn Ngọc Thái, construction of inter-level boarding schools in Dục Nông, Mô Rai, Sa Loong, and Rờ Kơi communes, invested by the Provincial Project Management Board for Transport, Civil and Industrial Works, commenced on December 29, 2025 and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2026.
For Phase 2 projects in Bờ Y, Ia Đal, Ia Tơi, Đăk Plô, and Đăk Long, land funds and construction locations have been reviewed. Relevant agencies are currently adjusting land-use planning and implementing procedures related to compensation and site clearance.
The Department of Education and Training also reported on preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of these projects. The ceremony is expected to take place simultaneously on the morning of March 19, 2026, with Bờ Y commune selected as the main venue.
Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc acknowledged the proactive coordination of departments, agencies, and local authorities in implementing directives from the central government and the province on building schools in border communes. Phase 1 projects have basically completed investment procedures and are currently under construction.
She requested the project investor and contractors to mobilize maximum resources to accelerate construction progress, ensuring completion before July 31, 2026, so that the schools can be put into operation for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Regarding the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 projects, Y Ngọc requested relevant agencies to develop detailed implementation plans, ensuring stable connections with the central event and effective organization of live broadcast and online links.
The Department of Finance was assigned to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training and related units to advise the PPC on approving tasks for the project investor and to work closely with local authorities to ensure the ceremony is organized effectively.
