On the evening of March 27, at the Multipurpose Gymnasium in Kon Tum Ward, Quảng Ngãi province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 1st Provincial Sports Games 2026.
The 1st Quảng Ngãi Provincial Sports Games 2026 take place from March to July 2026, featuring 20 sports with the participation of more than 5,000 athletes from localities and units across the province, competing for 290 sets of medals.
The competition program is designed to balance mass sports development and high-performance sports, while preserving cultural identity and keeping pace with modern sports trends.

In her opening remarks, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc emphasized that the mass sports movement in the province has developed strongly and widely, with the sports infrastructure system gradually being improved.

The rate of people regularly practicing physical exercise has reached nearly 40 per cent. High-performance sports have also made notable progress, with provincial athletes winning nearly 800 medals at national and international competitions, affirming the position of Quảng Ngãi sports and reflecting the resilience and pride of the locality.
Under the theme “Connection – Integration and Development,” the Games serve as an opportunity to enhance exchange, learning, and promotion of the noble values of sports, while discovering and nurturing outstanding athletic talents for future competitions at national and regional levels.
The event also provides a comprehensive evaluation of grassroots and high-performance sports development, contributing to improving people’s quality of life, human resources, socio-economic development, and international integration.
After the official ceremony, a large-scale artistic performance themed “Quảng Ngãi Sports: Connection – Integration and Development” took place. The program, with the participation of more than 1,000 performers, including high school students, karate practitioners, dancers, singers and actors, created a vibrant and impressive atmosphere, leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
