QUẢNG NGÃI — Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang on Thursday urged departments and local authorities to promptly review and resolve recommendations raised by voters in Mộ Đức Commune ahead of the mid-year session of the Provincial People’s Council for the 2026-31 tenure.
Voters from 14 villages in Mộ Đức Commune expressed satisfaction with the province’s recent socio-economic development, national defence and security achievements, while raising concerns related to livelihoods, agricultural production, transport infrastructure and social welfare policies.
Many voters called on the province to support stable rice prices and market access for farmers, and to provide assistance for livestock restocking for households affected by African swine fever outbreaks in 2025.
Residents also reflected concerns over frequent traffic accidents along National Highway 1A passing through the commune and urged authorities to strengthen inspections and implement measures to ensure traffic safety.
They proposed investment in upgrading roads connecting National Highway 1A with the former Đức Hòa and Đức Phú communes, as well as improvements to irrigation canal systems to ensure water supply for agricultural production.
Regarding social policies, voters requested authorities to consider support policies for village heads with more than 20 years of service who retired following the merger of administrative units and the implementation of the two-tier local government model.
They also suggested appropriate support for village police officers who lost their jobs due to staff reductions or failure to meet new requirements, and called for more attention to veterans who fought on the southwestern battlefield.
In addition, voters called for continued support for land consolidation efforts to facilitate agricultural production and urged authorities to inspect and address impacts on households affected during construction of the VX 88 nhà cái-Hoài Nhơn Expressway, especially post-project flooding issues.
Speaking at the meeting, Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the constructive and responsible opinions raised by voters, saying the recommendations reflected practical needs closely linked to local livelihoods and development.
He requested relevant departments and local authorities to urgently conduct field inspections and promptly address issues within their authority, particularly traffic safety, domestic water supply, irrigation infrastructure and problems arising during implementation of the VX 88 nhà cái-Hoài Nhơn Expressway project.
For issues beyond provincial authority, the province would compile recommendations and propose adjustments to inappropriate mechanisms and policies to central agencies, while also reviewing and adjusting local policies to better meet practical needs and ensure residents’ legitimate rights, he said.
