Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển chaired a meeting with relevant agencies on mineral resource management and 2026 tasks.

On April 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển chaired a meeting with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to review mineral resource management and outline tasks for 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Hiển said management efforts have achieved positive results, with licensing, exploration and mining activities carried out in line with regulations.

Mineral exploitation has met demand for construction materials, supporting socio-economic development and key projects in the province.

To improve efficiency, he urged agencies and localities to strictly follow Party and State policies and enhance accountability under the “six clear” principle, including clear responsibilities and timelines.

Leaders will be held responsible for any violations or weak management.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with strengthening coordination, completing assigned duties, reviewing mineral planning, and ensuring transparent auctions of mining rights.

Authorities were also asked to speed up licensing procedures and apply digital technology in management and supervision.

Relevant agencies were instructed to ensure environmental impact assessments and land procedures are fully implemented.

The Department of Construction will review plans to secure material supply for major projects, including the North–South railway, and promote the use of alternative materials.

Meanwhile, inspection, police and tax authorities will intensify supervision to prevent violations and revenue losses.

Localities were told to enhance oversight of mining activities and ensure traffic and infrastructure safety.

The province currently has 126 licensed mineral mines and 72 auctioned sites awaiting licensing.

Material supply has met demand for key projects, while recent auctions have improved transparency and increased budget revenue.
