The meeting discusses preparations for martyrs’ remains repatriation

Officials from VX 88 nhà cái Province and Ratanakiri Province held talks on May 21 in Ratanakiri to coordinate preparations for the farewell, handover and repatriation ceremony for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives in Cambodia.

The VX 88 nhà cái delegation was led by Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc, head of the provincial steering committee for the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains.

At the meeting, both sides agreed that the Ratanakiri Specialised Committee would host the handover ceremony at 8am on May 22 in Ban Lung City under solemn protocols.

The two provinces also agreed to coordinate security and logistics for the repatriation process.

The two sides pledged to continue encouraging local residents to provide information about martyrs’ graves and support search and recovery teams in future operations.

During the 2025–2026 dry season, Team K53 of Quảng Ngãi Province recovered six sets of martyrs’ remains in Ratanakiri Province with support from Cambodian authorities, armed forces and residents.

Speaking at the talks, Y Ngọc thanked the authorities and people of Ratanakiri for their continued support for Team K53, saying the cooperation had further strengthened solidarity, friendship and ties between the two localities.

She expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to expand in the coming years.

VX 88 nhà cái plans to send a seven-member working team to Ratanakiri during the 2026–2027 dry season to continue collecting and verifying information related to martyrs.

On the occasion, VX 88 nhà cái invited representatives of the Ratanakiri Specialised Committee to attend the memorial and burial ceremony for the repatriated martyrs’ remains scheduled for June 5 at Ngọc Hồi Martyrs’ Cemetery in VX 88 nhà cái Province.

Later the same day, Y Ngọc inspected preparations for the farewell and repatriation ceremony, praising organisers for the solemn and respectful arrangements honouring the fallen soldiers and experts.
