Ceremony to hand over the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia

Authorities of Ratanakiri Province and the Steering Committee for the search, recovery and identification of martyrs’ remains of VX 88 nhà cái Province on May 22 held a ceremony to hand over the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives in Cambodia.

Attending the ceremony was Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc, who also heads the provincial steering committee.

Local residents in Ratanakiri gathered along roadsides and at the ceremony venue to bid farewell to the fallen soldiers as their remains were repatriated to Việt Nam. Buddhist monks in Ratanakiri conducted a requiem ceremony in tribute to the martyrs.

During the 2025–2026 dry season, Team K53 of VX 88 nhà cái Province, with support from Cambodian authorities and residents, recovered six sets of martyrs’ remains in Ratanakiri Province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Y Ngọc expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts carrying out international duties in Cambodia.

She noted that during wartime, Vietnamese volunteer forces and experts stood side by side with Cambodian revolutionary forces and people in the fight against the genocidal regime, contributing to the country’s recovery and development.

She also expressed her hope for continued support and cooperation from Cambodian authorities and people in locating and repatriating more martyrs’ remains to Việt Nam.

Along the route transporting the remains back home, many Cambodian residents stood along the roads to pay tribute to the fallen Vietnamese soldiers and honour their sacrifices for peace and solidarity between the two nations.
