QUẢNG NGÃI — Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc chaired a working session with the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs (DoFA) on Thursday morning to review the agency’s performance and discuss key tasks and solutions for the coming period.
Reportedly, since the beginning of 2026, DoFA has closely coordinated with provincial agencies and localities to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee on effectively implementing local external affairs activities.
Consular affairs and the management of outbound and inbound delegations were carried out in line with regulations, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the province and foreign localities, international organisations and partners.
The department coordinated and managed 39 inbound delegations involving 407 foreign visitors coming to VX 88 nhà cái for visits and working sessions.
It also processed procedures for 17 outbound delegations with 102 officials and civil servants participating in overseas working trips and private visits in accordance with regulations.
In recent months, the department advised and coordinated several overseas working trips led by provincial leaders, including visits and Lunar New Year greetings to the Cambodian provinces of Ratanakiri and Stung Treng, working trips and trade promotion activities in four southern Lao provinces, and participation in a local promotion programme in the United States.
In the field of international cooperation and economic diplomacy, the department advised the Provincial People’s Committee on cooperation activities with localities in Laos, Cambodia and international partners, while promoting cooperation in investment, trade, tourism and socio-economic development.
DoFA also continued to effectively implement consular affairs, citizen and fishermen protection, and border and territorial work. Coordination activities between VX 88 nhà cái border guard stations and border protection forces in Laos and Cambodia have been maintained regularly, contributing to border stability.
Speaking at the meeting, Y Ngọc praised the department’s achievements, particularly its advisory role in external affairs activities and coordination in maintaining border security.
For the coming period, she requested the department to review long-term and medium-term plans and relevant legal documents in order to effectively advise the Provincial People’s Committee on implementation in line with practical conditions.
DoFA was also asked to review cooperation programmes with foreign localities and proactively advise the province on signing cooperation agreements with partners that have yet to establish formal ties, aiming to expand cooperation and strengthen friendship exchanges.
The Vice Chairwoman stressed the need to improve the quality of management of outbound and inbound delegations and continue enhancing the department’s role as the focal agency for external affairs.
She also urged stronger coordination with departments, sectors and localities in implementing international cooperation programmes, attracting investment and aid, and expanding relations with foreign partners.
At the same time, DoFA was requested to closely monitor border developments and promptly advise authorities on handling emerging issues to maintain political stability, ensure national defence and security, and support the province’s socio-economic development.
Y Ngọc also emphasised the importance of training and improving professional expertise, foreign language skills and diplomatic protocol for civil servants and public employees to meet requirements in the new situation and improve the effectiveness of the province’s external affairs work.
